Meet Snow
Tell us a bit about yourself
Hello my name is Snow and I am the owner of Bath based ethical clothing company BIBICO. I have been working alongside under privileged ladies for over 15 years. Through trade we educate, train and give financial and social support to over 300 ladies in the slums of Mumbai, India, and 200 in the Kathmandu valley in Nepal. I am Spanish but have been living in Bath for the last 16 years.
What inspired you to join Bath Women's Fund?
For the last 16 years I have been giving back and supporting underprivileged ladies in India and Nepal and I thought it was time to start giving back to my local community.
After a wide search, I found Bath Women’s Found who does exactly what I wanted and has the bonus of being a Giving Circle where a group of extraordinary women get together to pool their resources.
What are the issues that you are most passionate about?
I am passionate about showing people that there is a better, fairer way of doing fashion. I left my secure job in a big fashion retail chain back in 2007 to show to the big guys in the high street that there is a way to make every day clothes paying fair wages, not abusing people, and using natural materials.
I am also passionate about giving opportunities to vulnerable people, specially ladies, who often are misregarded by strong male focus societies.
What would you be most interested in learning about as a Bath Women's Fund member?
I would like to learn about the different charities doing amazing jobs around Bath and also I am very interested in meeting more members. I am a believer of harnessing the power of women to change the future for generations to come.
What is your favourite place/thing to do in and around Bath?
My favourite thing to do in Bath is walking the skyline where I try to explore new pathways. It always amazes me how close we live to nature and how beautiful our surroundings are.
