Our approach to grant-making is a little unusual…
Grants
Bath Women’s Fund members pool their monthly donations and, once a year, give their gathered funds to local groups as a grant.
Like other giving circles, part of our role is to encourage women to get involved with philanthropy. Members are involved in the grant making process: they select the theme, review applications, learn about the organisations applying, provide mentoring support to applicants, and vote on who receives the main grant.
For details of all the groups we have supported so far, please look at our charities page.
2026
Our grant making theme for 2026 (voted for by our members) is:
Meeting the needs of families who are most impacted by the increased cost of living, For example, organisations providing food, warmth, benefits advice, and preventing homelessness.
Congratulations to our three finalists this year:
Afghanistan & Central Asian Association - to provide women, primarily from ethnic minority, refugee, and migrant backgrounds, and their families with practical, tailored support to manage the rising cost of living, building resilience and community capacity.
FareShare South West - to help prevent summer holiday hunger across Bath and North East Somerset through sharing enough food for over 40,000 healthy meals and targeted summer projects.
The Nest Project - to support families with children under the age of 5 in Bath and North East Somerset who are experiencing financial hardship through free children’s clothing and equipment.
The three finalists will present their projects at the Grants Award Evening on 24th June at Newark Works, further information here. Each Bath Women’s Fund member will have the opportunity to vote on which organisation will receive the main grant of £15,000 and the other two organisations will receive awards of £4,000. We will also hear from Off The Record on the impact of the project funded through our main grant last year.
